Guilty Pleasure: Charm School Update

SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't seen the show, and you actually want to be dragged through two hours of badly edited waterworks, skip this post. In fact, watch those Moral Orel clips.

Okay, now that that is done, Saaphyri won Charm School. This was blatantly obvious to everyone except possibly half of the IMDB commenters (Shay? Seriously?) on the show's message board.

Listen: The girl was homeless. The last place she had didn't have a floor. She came there with literally all the possessions she had in the world. Nobody on that show was going to let her leave with nothing. Unless she screwed up royally, she was going to win if she made it to the finals. Of course, I don't want to slight the other finalists. They did great, and none of them would have made it that far if they were not heartfelt in their change. And really, isn't every woman who realizes they are better than Flavor Flav already a winner?

The thing is, this is one of the few reality show finales where there wasn't a clear person to root for or against. They were all worthy of winning. Shay actually swallowed her pride and apologized to Saaphyri. Considering this was after she was eliminated, I doubt it was a calculated move. Becky was willing to split the money 50/50 with Saaphyri if she won, which was pretty damn sweet. And seeing Leilene so happy and beaming...

No, I am not crying. That is some dirt in my eye. Shut Up.

So there you have it. Of course, the show ain't over until the reunion show next week. And according to the previews, Shay finally confronts Larissa, Brooke confronts her vagina, and everybody just about forgets everything they learned. To quote a great man, it will be..wait for it...legendary.

As the preview announcer says "You can take the girl out of Charm School, but you can't.....um....oh, forget it."
